The other way to apply is to fill out a paper application. BSA has moved to 100% online applications, but if there’s a glitch, it is possible to fall back to paper. We usually have some on hand, or you can print it out from the Internet and turn it in.
What is the cost?
The dues are broken up into two payments. When you register, you will be asked to pay $150 for District and National dues which as well as a onetime $25 new registration fee. The pack dues are $100 which is due when the member starts for a total of $275 for a calendar year. Cub Scouts runs from Sept through June, so this is a much cheaper alternative to sports on a per event basis.

How does Cub Scouts work and how often do you meet?
Each child is placed into a Den based on their grade level. All Dens together form the Pack.
The Pack is made up of students from Starkweather, Westtown Thornbury, and Pennwood Elementary schools. (but this is not a requirement). The whole Pack meets once (sometimes twice) a month. These can consist of either a Pack gathering, camping trips, service projects, outings, the Pinewood Derby, and more. See the pack calendar for more details.
Each Den typically meets once a month under the leadership of a Den Leader. All Dens meet one Monday a month from 6:30-7:30, these meetings are on the Pack Calendar. At Den Meetings they work together on adventures and activities. These can include learning outdoor skills, health and fitness, service projects, and more.
What are the Den Ranks? See the graphics below.
All kids in grades K through 5 (OR ages 6 through 10) may become Cub Scouts. Once a kid completes fifth grade or turns 11, he should join Scouts BSA (the Boy Scouts).
